Air Artists’ Giant Iridescent Scissor Sisters’ Inflatable

At Air Artists, we specialise in creating bespoke inflatables that transform live performances into unforgettable experiences. For the Scissor Sisters’ inflatable, as part of their reunion and summer tour, our team designed something bold, playful, and impossible to miss: a giant pair of iridescent inflatable scissors that dominated the stage.

From the earliest concept sketch to the final inflation test, our artists bring each project to life through our bespoke inflatable design service. The Scissor Sisters’ inflatable was crafted with their fearless energy in mind. The giant scissors were finished in an iridescent material that shifted colours under the stage lights, creating a constantly changing effect throughout the performance.

Reviewers couldn’t help but notice. One critic wrote how “the stage had transformed into a disco playground courtesy of an iridescent, inflatable pair of giant scissors” during the band’s set on Kesha’s Tits Out tour.

To match the band’s cheeky sense of humour, as well as the Scissor Sisters inflatable, we also created a pair of giant, hand-painted inflatable breasts. This giant inflatable was designed and painted by hand in our workshop, turning a playful idea into a larger-than-life piece of art. They became one of the most talked-about features of the tour.

Our bespoke inflatables weren’t just built for arenas; they travelled. At Glastonbury 2025, the Scissor Sisters played a packed Woodsies stage with their trademark theatricality and flamboyance. In July and August, they joined Kesha across North America for the Tits Out tour. In West Palm Beach, the Miami New Times captured it best: “the stage had transformed into a disco playground courtesy of an iridescent, inflatable pair of giant scissors,” perfectly describing the shimmering finish of our bespoke Scissor Sisters inflatable.

Across the tour, the Scissor Sisters inflatable became more than a prop; they were a recurring visual cue that signalled the Scissor Sisters’ playful, cutting-edge return. From festival fields to packed US amphitheatres, the bespoke stage inflatables we built travelled with the band, creating unforgettable moments for audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
